Rosie
#163.
Dark Bay Morgan Mare.
Appx. 20+ yrs. old. Appx. 14.2 hands. This is
a very nice older mare who has stiffness in her hocks. She would
be able to
do light trails. Her tail is to the ground, but it is very matted.
She has
not been ridden in awhile and would require some toning and care.
This lovely
mare is now called Rosie aka Desert Rose! Her new mom, Sheila,
is a veterinarian in Arizona who believes Rosie is one of the
"old style" Morgans. Sheila drove from her home in Arizona
to pick up this lovely mare and bring her home. She will receive
the best care possible for her hock problem. If she is able to
do very light work and exercise, she will be working at a therapeutic
riding academy for 2-3 days a week. Sheila is very active with
this group. If Rosie is unable to do this, she will be retired.
This is the 7th horse that Sheila has pulled out of a terrible
situation somewhere. One was a mustang, one was a grade horse
and the others have been Morgans!
Thanks for
being such a good friend (and doctor!) to the horses Sheila! We
We made it
home safefly, though I'm not sure she could have done a longer
drive. She rolled last night and I had to help her up. Hopefully,
when she's consistently on medication and exercise, she'll get
a bit stronger. She is a very sweet mare and how ever this turns
out, she deserves the proper care to live her life out with dignity.
