Delilah
I
received information from a very lovely lady that she had found
an Arabian filly
wandering the streets near her home. This wonderful lady reported
the incident
to Riverside Animal Control who then picked up the filly, whereupon
she was transported
to Norco Animal Control because they have horse facilities.
Kathy
(the wonderful samaritan who found the filly) was terribly concerned
that this
filly would end up at an auction after her mandatory stay of
10 days.
The 10 day "quarantine" is to give the owner a chance
to claim the animal.
Nobody claimed the filly. I
contacted Riverside Animal Control and Norco Animal Control
in hopes of finding
out what the filly's fate would be. Quite a bit of interest
had been generated
in her welfare and people were calling both facilities.
Ms.
Elf Horse owner (Carol) jumped into the fray at my request (can't
call long
distance from work) and arrangements were made for the filly
to come to TIER
in order for her to go through our adoption process. She arrived
today and
was christened DELILAH!
She
is a 3 yr. old Arabian (possibly a cross) filly. Black, with
a star. She and
Shiloh (another Black Arabian rescue) are practically twins!
Delilah will
remain at TIER for an evaluation period and then she will be
available
for adoption. Applications are NOT being taken at this time.
An announcement
will be made via this board and our webpage as to when she will
be available for adoption.
Delilah
has been adopted. Her name has been changed to Patience, but
she will always be Delilah to us.
